The Real Estate Taxes for the first half of 2005 will be due on Tuesday, January 31st 2006.
The Manufactured Homes Taxes for the first half of 2006 are due on Friday, March 10th 2006 .
The Treasurer’s major responsibility is the collection and safekeeping of taxes for schools, municipalities townships and County.
These taxes include:
Cigarette License Fees
Vendor License Fees
Fees, Fines & Miscellaneous moneys from all departments
Collection of taxes
First-half real estate taxes are due at the end of January. Second half real estate taxes are due the middle of June.
For taxpayers’ convenience real estate taxes may be paid at our office located at 117 East High Street, Suite 103 as well as at First-Knox National Bank locations.
Taxes may be paid by MasterCard or Visa in the office or by telephone.
We accept cash, check or money orders for payment of taxes. Envelopes are provided for mail back convenience.
Electronic Funds Transfer is another option in paying your real estate taxes. This is a popular choice for those who go to warmer climates during the January tax collection period.
Manufactured Home Taxes are due in February and August payable in our office, by mail or at First Knox locations.
Provides terminals for public use in researching information on tax parcels with staff assistance when needed. To research you will need a parcel number, name of property owner, or the address of the property.
Investment of Funds
Treasurer serves as the County investment authority for all funds and is responsible for sound investment of the County’s money until it is disbursed.
Continually monitors investments and maintains short-term investments to have enough monies readily available to pay current operating expenses from day to day.
