New Real Estate System

The Knox County Auditor is pleased to announce the recent purchase and installation of a new real estate computer system from Manatron, Inc. It replaces our old real estate system which is more than a decade old and being phased out by the software manufacturer.

The new system includes both new hardware and software.

The hardware consists of a new file/imaging/database server, new desktop PCs, upgraded PCs, new printers and scanners.

The software is an integrated real estate tax accounting, manufactured homes and CAMA programs. Manatron CAMA is a comprehensive property appraisal software product. It features a highly productive, integrated sketch package and an extremely accurate valuation engine for calculating property values. It is the most widely deployed and, nationally recognized CAMA software product available today.

Training for the new system has been completed for most part and the new MVP system is up and running.

This is a major upgrade for us with many new features benefiting both the county and the tax payer. For example, we can now scan completed conveyance forms and attach them to the parcels, which will save the public and county time and money when requests come into our office. Everyone will also see a new design in the tax bills in January with more detail on where your tax dollars are going. The Auditor’s real estate search website has also been updated with a new look and additional information. Check it out at Real Estate Search.

To pay for this project, the county was aware well in advance that this upgrade would be essential. Money had been set aside and saved to pay for the new system without borrowing the money, saving the county the associated financing fees.

As a special note, I would like to thank all of the county employees involved for their support and hard work to make this upgrade successful.
