What to See and Do in Knox County, Ohio

No matter where you’re traveling this season, you’ll want to know what there is to do when you get there. If you’re heading to Knox County, Ohio, be sure to take the family along. The county and its surrounding areas offer plenty to do for people of every age.

1. Children’s Garden
You can find the Children’s Garden in Mount Vernon, at the Knox County Career Center. The open-air amphitheater is home to plays, musicals and theatrical performances for children of all ages. There are a variety of things to see and do at the garden; plan on spending an afternoon touring the grounds.

2. First Friday
Held on the first Friday of every month, this festival is a favorite among locals and tourists alike. Watch as artists make balloon sculptures, pet the animals in the petting zoo and jump on the Moon Bounce. Make sure that you stay for dinner; local vendors set up booths in order to feed the hungry masses.

3. Danville Antique Flea Market
The market is open Thursday, Friday and Saturday of each week. Covering over 4000-square feet, the market houses collectables, hand-made items, Longaberger baskets and pottery, and hard-to-find vintage items. Feel free to browse through this amazing flea market at your leisure.

4. Walking Tour of Historic Homes
If you have a love of architecture, you will love this stroll through Mt. Vernon’s historic districts. Not only will you learn about the history of the gorgeous homes that you see, but you’ll be told tall tales of the occupants of these grand dwellings.
